Every week, our team loads up the van, straps in the babies, and heads to the local farmers market — and it’s quickly becoming one of our favorite traditions.
There’s something so special about getting out into the sunshine, smelling fresh herbs, tasting juicy peaches, and letting the little ones see, touch, and explore. For our residents, it’s more than just a shopping trip — it’s a chance to connect with the community, support local farmers, and experience a bit of nature’s rhythm.
Our babies love the sights and sounds — from bright piles of vegetables to the cheerful chatter of vendors. For the adults, it’s a moment to slow down, breathe deeply, and remember the joy in simple things: a warm loaf of bread, fresh-picked flowers, or a basket of strawberries to share back home.
Each trip gives us a chance to bring back not only healthy food for our kitchens but also new memories and conversations that last all week long. These outings are helping to build bonds — between staff, residents, and families — and are a beautiful reminder that wellness is about more than just food; it’s about connection, joy, and community.
We look forward to many more weeks of market mornings together!
